MS SQL Server Database Backup

With the SQL Server plugin you can backup and restore databases from the local Microsoft SQL-servers. Every SQL Server-versions (2005-2012) is supported.

  • Server: Name on the SQL Server-instance to connect
  • Authentication: Two authentication modes are available: Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication. Windows authentication allows a user to connect through a Windows user account. With SQL Server Authentication to SQL Server performs the authentication itself.
  • User: Username for the SQL Server account (only if you have selected to connect using SQL Server Authentication).
  • Password: SQL Server password (used only if you have selected to connect using SQL Server Authentication).

Click the Update button to retrieve the list of databases. You must fill in the server parameters before, because the program must connect to the database server to get the list of databases. The database list shows the databases from that server. Select the databases you want to include in the backup.
